Exempt Research

Exempt Research
Body

Exempt research is research with human subjects, but once approved, it is "exempt" from ongoing review, unless the research is amended in such a way that it no longer meets the eligibility requirements. "Exempt" does not mean "exempt from review," and exempt research does require an informed consent process.

For information on the meaning of the term “exempt” as well as procedures for exempt proposals, visit FAQs for Exempt Research.
