Strategic Priority #7

Body

DEVELOP SAINT MARY'S AS A HUB IN THE BAY AREA

Saint Mary’s will enrich the student experience and deepen student engagement within the Bay Area by developing partnerships with community organizations and building connections with Bay Area public, private, and non-profit sector organizations to increase internship and community engagement opportunities. We will reimagine Saint Mary’s place in the Bay Area by developing meaningful and mutually beneficial partnerships that increase Saint Mary’s presence and visibility in the community. We will engage alumni and external stakeholders and create and deliver value in ways that are meaningful to these constituents in keeping with Saint Mary’s mission.

Initiatives

We will be updating this page with our accomplishments as we execute the Strategic plan.

2021-2024 Accomplishments

We are making steady progress in this priority.

Sustainability, AmeriCorps, Governor’s Office, California Volunteers partnered to create a hub for service and climate action on Saint Mary’s campus, and hosted four full time fellows who created service opportunities for the community around sustainability, climate and environmental stewardship. We also hosted Global Lasallian Sustainability Symposium (April 2023) and Cummins Institute Montini Fellow on Laudato Si (April 2024). Engaging with neighboring communities, Club Sports is partnering with local rugby clubs to provide access for high school and youth clubs on campus.
