Library Gifts and Donations

Library Donation and gift policy statement

The Library welcomes gifts from patrons as a way of helping to fulfill its philosophy and fulfill its responsibility to the College community.  All gifts are evaluated on the basis of the regular selection procedures contained in the general Collection Development Policy.  It is the policy of the Library to reserve the right to exchange, sell, or discard materials which are given to it as gifts.  To protect both its donors and itself, the Library, as an interested party, does not appraise gifts, but will provide donors with information, such as dealers' catalogs, or suggest appropriate professional appraisers who might be consulted, if the gift should warrant this treatment.
