Institutional Research

The Office of Institutional Research handles various data management responsibilities for Saint Mary's College. These responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Managing certain types of external data reports, for example to the federal government, our accrediting body (WASC/WSCUC), and proprietary channels such as US News & World Report or Princeton Review.
  • Providing institutional data for campus stakeholders to support them in their work.
  • Coordinating institutional survey activities, e.g. annual student satisfaction or engagement surveys.
  • Maintaining key data reference sources such as the Fact Book or the Common Data Set.
  • Performing data analyses to help guide the strategic planning and operations of the college, for example evaluating student success through various outcome measures.

If you need institutional data, please check the Fact Book or the Common Data Set to see if the data you need are stored there. If you need additional data, please submit an ad hoc request to Lee Allard in the IR Office (see below for contact info).
