Transgender Week of Visibility 2026

Body

Our commitment to Lasallian core principles of Respect for All Persons and Inclusive Community compels us to celebrate Transgender Week of Visibility (TWoV) at Saint Mary's College to uplift Trans students and community members.

Through programmatic offerings, our goal is to bring to light the conditions that prevent Trans and gender non-conforming people from being who they are and that which keeps them invisible in our community.

What do the students have to say?

What sets SMC apart from other schools are the inalienable notions of respect for all persons and inclusive community, which are key to our mission statement and Lasallian Core Principles. Celebrating Trans Week of Visibility falls under those principles and is more than dire that our school be celebrating it if those are the principles we truly stand for.

Everyone has an identity, identity is what makes people connect with one another. Trans folk should be able to express themselves and show who they are because everyone should be entitled to that right.
