Dean of the School of Science

The School of Science (SOS) incorporates teaching that is vibrant, innovative and exciting, and fosters personal contact with students. Faculty members are active scholars and emphasize collaborative research with students, believing that student research projects are important pedagogical tools that help to convey the excitement and hands-on nature of scientific investigations. The identity of Saint Mary’s College as a liberal arts college informs student outcomes at the School. Faculty of the School believe that science is a core component of –rather than separate from – the liberal arts and are committed to preparing students to think critically, apply the scientific method, and compete successfully in nationally-ranked graduate and professional programs.
The School of Science includes the following departments and programs: Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Dual Degree Engineering, Environmental & Earth Science, Health Science, Mathematics & Computer Science, Physics & Astronomy, and Psychology.
