Responding To The Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Saint Mary College is currently communicating with the Contra Costa County Public Health Department and following CDC recommendations related to responding to the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

As we continue to track the progression of COVID-19 in the Bay Area, the Incident Management Team is reviewing public health issues and related policy that impacts the campus community.   Please visit Public Safety website for more information.

At this time, in the midst of cold and flu season, it is of utmost importance that we each do our part to protect the health of our community. Some measures that you can take to prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses include the following:

  • Wash your hands with soap and water;
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands;
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick;
  • Stay away from work, school, or other people if you become sick with respiratory symptoms like fever and cough;
  • Get your flu shot.

Staying active and step into a Fitness Class or sign up for Personal Training at the Joseph L. Alioto Recreation Center to help keep you in shape and manage stress.

Schedule an online appointment with the Health and Wellness Center if you are feeling sick, would like to get STD testing or just want to speak to a medical provider (instead of physician) privately about your health concerns.

Another place you can always find someone who wants to listen is at Counseling And Psychological Services (CAPS). And remember, no matter where you go, everything is confidential.

Find a peaceful spot in the Legacy Garden or try a new diet to help keep your body in balance. After all, a change of pace or a little exercise is sometimes the best medicine.
