Students, staff and faculty can take advantage of numerous programs and initiatives offered by Saint Mary's Sustainability, mostly through the help of our engaged and passionate Sustainability Student Leaders. Throughout the year, these students certify Green Spaces, generate and implement sustainable food practices in Oliver Hall and beyond, reduce waste, manage our ever-popular and expanding Free Store, create inspiring social media content and educational materials, foster an inclusive Sustainability Living Learning Community and lead our Green Gaels student club and Climate Reality Project. Earth Month & Garden Prom
Each year in April, the Office of Sustainability and the Sustainability Committee in collaboration with departments and groups across campus, encourage action and engagement through events, initiatives and projects that focus on the urgent need for sustainable solutions.

Green Gaels & Garden Clubs
Green Gaels is a student organization dedicated to promoting climate advocacy, environmental justice, and sustainability through education, events, and programming.
The Garden Club is a student-led, volunteer-based group that helps support the Legacy Garden through hands-on garden care, volunteer hours, and events throughout the year. Students contribute to planting, harvesting, maintenance, and other garden projects while also helping create opportunities for the broader student body to connect with the garden.
Campus Sustainability Committee
Saint Mary’s Sustainability Committee leads institutional efforts to advance sustainability on campus and beyond. The campus-wide committee reviews, recommends and facilitates the implementation of policies and programs that advance sustainability and environmental justice across Saint Mary’s, through education, research, community engagement and campus operations.
