COVID-19 Testing

Testing protocol for SMC Campus Community.

COVID-19 Testing for SMC Students

This fall, Saint Mary’s College Health and Wellness Center will test students with COVID-19 symptoms, as well as contacts of those who test positive for COVID-19. Mitigation of COVID-19 depends on symptom screening, testing, and subsequent contact tracing that all members of our campus community are expected to participate in. Our College testing plan is evolving based on dynamic County and State Department of Health Services guidance. Please stay tuned for important updates on our fall testing plan for our community members.

Employees should get tested for COVID-19 soon after they start having symptoms or are notified that they have had exposure.  If an employee has any COVID-19 symptoms, they should stay home. If an employee develops symptoms while at work, they should return home and isolate until further guidance by a healthcare provider.

  • Employees can be tested:
    • Through their primary healthcare provider.
    • Contra Costa Health Services testing sites by calling the “Get Tested” hotline (844) 421-0804 or scheduling an appointment online.Testing recommendations and guidelines continue to evolve and there will continue to be updates on plans around testing, especially as they relate to testing employees who are asymptomatic.
