Interim Campus Access Policy

This interim policy is a mitigation strategy to lessen the risk to employees and students of exposure to contagions, including COVID-19. The interim policy was developed in alignment with state and local public health guidance, and is in addition to the existing policies found in the Student Handbook (Visitation and Guests; and Residence Hall Visitor Policy and Guidelines for Residential Students both found under Residential Living Policies) and the Employee Handbook (Section 2.10 - Friends, Family and Children 14 and under in the workplace). Campus Access protocols will change depending on Contra Costa County’s current COVID-19 tier status. 

TIER 1 – Closed Campus

Residential Students – Access to campus approved via residential parking permit and Daily Health Screening. Those who do not have a residential parking permit should present their College ID at the Public Safety kiosk.

Students Who Reside Off Campus – Students are only permitted on campus for the following reasons, and must present College ID or display current parking permit and show the Daily Health Screening at the Public Safety kiosk:

  • Student athlete or club sports athlete approved for conditioning at designated athletic facilities.
  • Approved campus employment.
  • Appointments at the Health and Wellness Center, SDS or CAPS.
  • Students picking up library books allowed via curbside pickup. 

Employees and Brothers

  • Department Heads will produce a list of staff who are allowed on campus upon moving back into Tier 1 from other Tiers.  Those people on the list will receive a purple sticker to affix to their placard/permit from Public Safety to allow subsequent entry. 
  • All faculty are permitted to come to campus for their roles. Faculty coming to campus will receive a placard with a purple sticker indicating they may access campus as needed. Faculty may obtain their placard/sticker at the Public Safety kiosk upon showing their College ID.
  • Employees are permitted to come to campus to perform “grab and go” visits.
  • Employees and Brothers who reside on campus will present their residential parking permit and Daily Health Screening at Public Safety Kiosk.

Regular Contractors/Vendors – College will maintain a list of vendors regularly coming to campus to perform essential services.  Contractor/Vendor will be required to show ID and Daily Health Screening at the Public Safety Kiosk.

Guests/Visitors – Should be added to the one-time visitor log by a Senior Leadership member if they are required on campus to perform essential business. See the Authorized Approver List here. Additionally, residential students can refer to the Residence Hall Visitor Policy for further information.

Prospective Students & Families – Prospective students are invited to visit campus through Undergraduate Admissions.  Prospective students will follow protocols outlined in the registration process.  Drive through and guided outdoor tours (one family per timeslot) are allowed.

Rideshare - May not enter the campus, and their pickups and drop-offs will take place at the Rugby Parking Lot near the entrance to the Parkway off St. Mary’s Road. Signage will direct drivers to the pickup/drop-off location.

Food Delivery - Permitted to enter campus for the purpose of delivery only but may not exit their vehicle.

 

TIERS 2, 3, 4

Residential Students – Access to campus approved via residential parking permit and Daily Health Screening.

Employee and Brothers

  • Supervisors are responsible and accountable for working with their area Dean/VP to determine who should come to campus at each tier.
  • Must present College ID or display current parking permit and show the Daily Health Screening at the Public Safety kiosk.
  • Employees and Brothers who reside on campus will present their residential parking permit and Daily Health Screening at the Public Safety kiosk.

Visitors Health and Safety Protocol

All visitors, guests, contractors, and vendors must adhere to our Campus-Wide Health & Safety Protocol.  That includes signing the Visitor & Guest Wellness Pledge (Visitor & Guest Wellness Pledge also in Spanish); Fill out the Daily Health Screening; Prepare to show the completion of these requirements to Public Safety at the entrance of the campus.
