The I-House is a Living, Learning Community located on the first floor of Claey's North. It is a unique community that brings international and domestic students together to become global citizens by increasing students' cross-cultural communication skills and global awareness. The I-House mission is to create a community that fosters a friendly environment where cultural diversity is respected and valued. Students living in the I-House will have the opportunity to attend regular events that explore culture, language, international cuisine, foregin films and music, and cultural excursions.
I-House community members are expected to participate in global events around campus such as the Global Fair, Global Dinners, International Potluck, and attend other cultural events in the SMC community like Cultural Nights. Community members are also encouraged to be actively involved in the I-House community by attending I-House events and by welcoming new international and exchange students to the SMC community.

The I-House is looking for 2 Community Leaders to welcome new members, plan and host events, promote and represent the I-House at various campus events, build community within the I-House, and assist the I-House Advisor as needed.
Community Leaders are required to register in a .25 credit leadership course (EDUC 085: Exploring Leadership) during the Fall semester. Community Leaders are also required to commit to the position for one academic year (Fall + Spring semesters) and will be paid a stipend each semester. Additionally, Community Leaders are required to live in the I-House.
