The EdTech Team will be offering Canvas and Simple Syllabus training workshops throughout the Fall. Recorded trainings can be found on this page under Webinar Recordings.

*The EdTech Team recommends that if you have have not used Canvas as an instructor, you should first attend the Canvas Fundamentals Workshop before attending other trainings. 

1. Canvas Fundamentals: 1 hour workshop

This workshop is an introduction to Canvas and will provide an overview of the basic features, dynamic tools, and functionality that allows you to build and support engaging courses.

2. Assignments and Discussions: 1 hour workshop

This workshop will cover how to build assignments and discussions in Canvas, including Turnitin assignments.

3. Gradebook, SpeedGrader, and Rubrics (Prerequisites: Attend the Assignments and Discussions Workshop and the Online Quizzes Workshop): 1 hour workshop

This workshop will cover how to grade and provide feedback using Speedgrader and the Gradebook. Also, it will cover how to use Rubrics for grading in Canvas. 

4. Online Quizzes: 1 hour workshop

This workshop will cover how to setup a Canvas Quiz, build questions, and how to view analytics. 

5. Canvas Studio - Videos and Video Quizzes: 1 hour workshop

This workshop will cover how to setup Canvas Studio, how to upload and create videos, how to use the interactive tools (i.e creating video quizzes), and how to view analytics. 

5. Simple Syllabus: 1 hour workshop

This workshop will cover Simple Syllabus in Canvas, the Dashboard view, how to edit the syllabus as an instructor, and how to view as a Student.
