Kimberly Mayfield Lynch, EdD, joined Saint Mary’s College as Dean of the Kalmanovitz School of Education on July 1, 2026, following a national search. A respected educational leader with more than three decades of experience, she has built a distinguished career spanning K–12 education, higher education, public service, and community partnership.

Prior to joining Saint Mary’s, Dr. Mayfield Lynch served as Deputy Mayor for the City of Oakland, where she helped build cross-sector partnerships connecting education with workforce development and community opportunity. She also served as Chief Learning and Innovation Officer for Oakland Natives Give Back and previously was the founding Dean of the School of Education and Liberal Arts at Holy Names University, where she led successful accreditation efforts and advanced innovative teacher preparation programs.

A widely published scholar and advocate for educational equity, Dr. Mayfield Lynch has written and presented nationally on teacher diversity, culturally responsive pedagogy, urban education, and educational leadership. Her leadership reflects a deep commitment to collaboration, innovation, and the Lasallian mission of preparing educators who make a meaningful difference in their communities.
