Important Dates

Spring 2026

• Housing Application for 2026-2027 Academic Year opens March 3rd 2026 and closes for returning students March 24th 2026.
  • New first year student housing applications priority deadline is June 1st 2026
• Returning Student Room Selection is April 7th-April 9th 2026
  • This will take place in-person at the Soda Center (Moraga Room) tentatively slated for 5-10pm each of those days
  • More detailed schedule and room selection appointment information to be shared closer to room selection
• Spring Break  March 27th 2026 - Monday April 6th
  • Students can remain in their room during the Spring break, but limited dining options and meal plans are not active during Spring Break

• Spring Move-Out
  • Halls Close Thursday May 21st at 4pm
    • Residents can apply to stay late and/or for Summer 2026 for additional costs
      • Learn more about late stay/summer housing on our summer housing page here
    • Graduating Seniors should apply as well to stay late, but will not be charged to stay up until Saturday May 23rd at 12pm
    • Last meal is breakfast on Friday May 22nd

    • If students still have academic requirements the afternoon/evening of Thursday May 21st they can be approved to stay until 12pm Friday May 22nd at no additional cost but will need to note this in their spring late stay request form
    • All rooms will be entered on Thursday May 21st between 4pm-10pm for residential staff to complete move-out inspections and building walkthroughs (including approved to stay late rooms)
• Spring to Summer Housing Transition
  • Students staying between spring housing and summer housing will transition to their summer room assignment (tentatively slated for Ageno B) June 1st-June 2nd
  • Please note Monday 5/25 is a holiday, and on Tuesday 5/26 and 5/27 there will be a scheduled campus power shutdown and during that time no one is able to remain in the residence halls and students who need to stay on campus between Spring and Summer housing will need to find off campus arrangements during this period
    • Your items can remain in your Spring room during the shutdown taking place 5/26 and 5/27 (but you cannot remain in the room), and then you'll move rooms 6/1/2026
    • If you have questions or concerns about off campus accommodations during the shutdown, please reach out to housing@stmarys-ca.edu

  • Priority housing application deadline is June 1st
  • Students who apply after the priority deadline may be assigned based on availability and preferences

  • Thursday August 27th 2026 9am-1pm
    • 9am-11am Last Names A-L
    • 11am-1pm Last Names M-Z
• New Student Move-In (students who are attending the August Orientation)
  • Tuesday August 25th 2026 1pm-3pm
• New Transfer Student Move-In (for those who did not move in earlier in the week)
  • Saturday August 29th 9am-12pm
    • Check-In will take place at the long parking lot leading up to Michael E Ageno (Ageno A)
• Returning Student Move-in (2nd Years, Juniors, Seniors, Graduate Students, etc.)
  • Sunday, August 30th 2026 9am-3pm (at your assigned residence hall/area)
    • Students can apply to move in up to 1 day early via the early arrival request form on the housing portal.  We are unable to approve any earlier requests
    • 8/29/2026 approved early move-ins will take place 9am-12pm at the long parking lot leading up to Michael E Ageno (Ageno A)
• Fall 2026 Classes Start
  • Monday August 31st
• Fall 2026 Residence Halls Closure
  • Residence Halls Close December 18th 12pm
    • Students can apply to stay late for up to 2 days or for the entire break for an additional charge (application will be available on housing portal)
    • All rooms will be entered for health and safety inspections, including late stay/winter break approved residents

Jan/Spring 2027

• Residence Halls Re-Open

• New Jan/Spring Student Orientation
  • February 6th 2027
