January Term 2026
- Residence Halls Re-Open at 9am on January 4th
- First Meal in Oliver Hall is Dinner on Sunday January 4th
- If students are looking to come back prior to January 4th 2026 they'll need to complete the Jan Term Early Arrival form available on the housing portal starting 11/14/2025
- Jan Term Break Saturday January 24th 2026 - Sunday February 1st
- Students can remain in their room during the Jan Term Break, but limited dining options and meal plans are not active during Jan Term Break

- Last meal 1/23/26 BRUNCH
- First meal starts dinner on Sunday February 1st

Spring 2026
- New Student Move-In Saturday, January 31st 9:30am-10:30am (before 11:30am start new undergraduate student orientation)
- Returning SMC students who are moving onto campus starting Spring 2026 will move in Friday January 30th 9am-4:30pm.
- Housing Application for 2026-2027 Academic Year opens March 3rd 2026 and closes March 24th 2026.
- New first year student housing applications priority deadline is June 1st 2026
- Returning Student Room Selection is April 7th-April 9th 2026
- This will take place in-person at the Soda Center (Moraga Room) tentatively slated for 5-10pm each of those days
- More detailed schedule and room selection appointment information to be shared closer to room selection
- Spring Break March 27th 2026 - Monday April 6th
- Students can remain in their room during the Spring break, but limited dining options and meal plans are not active during Spring Break
- Spring Move-Out
- Halls Close Thursday May 21st at 4pm
- Residents can apply to stay late and/or for Summer 2026 for additional costs
- Graduating Seniors should apply as well to stay late, but will not be charged to stay up until Saturday May 23rd at 12pm
- Last meal is breakfast on Friday May 22nd
- If students still have academic requirements the afternoon/evening of Thursday May 21st they can be approved to stay until 12pm Friday May 22nd at no additional cost but will need to note this in their spring late stay request form
- All rooms will be entered on Thursday May 21st between 4pm-10pm for residential staff to complete move-out inspections and building walkthroughs (including approved to stay late rooms)
- Halls Close Thursday May 21st at 4pm
- Spring to Summer Housing Transition
- Students staying between spring housing and summer housing will transition to their summer room assignment (tentatively slated for Ageno B) May 28th-May 29th
- Summer 2026 housing application will open April 13th 2026 and close May 4th 2026

- Summer to Fall Housing Transition
- Students staying between summer housing and fall housing will transition to their fall room assignment August 5th-August 6th
