This page is intended for credential students who are pursuing the Bilingual Authorization in Spanish (BILA). The BILA program provides credential candidates and credential holders an opportunity to apply a BILA in Spanish to their teaching credential. For more information on program and credential requirements, please contact Program Director Laura Alvarez at la21@stmarys-ca.edu or the Credentials Office at credential@stmarys-ca.edu.
- Notify your Program Director.
- The Program Director will notify the Credentials Office to initiate the credentialing process.
- Check your SMC and external emails for messages from the Credentials Office.
BILA Certificate Requirements
- BILA Coursework
- Bachelor's Degree
- CTC Credential or qualifying Permit (with embedded English Learner Authorization)
BILA requirements are verified by the Program Director. After students have completed BILA Coursework, the Program Director will notify the Credentials Office to initiate the CTC recommendation process.
