Beta Gamma Sigma

Saint Mary's Beta Gamma Sigma Chapter
The Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) chapter at Saint Mary’s College of California represents a prestigious academic honor society for students enrolled in business programs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

Membership is offered exclusively to the top 10% of undergraduate seniors and the top 5% of juniors within AACSB-accredited programs. With just over 950 universities worldwide earning AACSB accreditation, membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is a mark of exceptional academic achievement and dedication to the principles of leadership and integrity in business.
The Society is grounded in three core principles, each represented by a Greek word that forms the name Beta Gamma Sigma. The first, Beta, stands for Bebaεos, which means honor. This principle reflects personal integrity, excellence of character, and a commitment to ethical leadership and social responsibility. The second, Gamma, represents Gnosis, meaning wisdom, or knowledge tested by experience and guided by discernment, free thought, and continuous learning. The third, Sigma, refers to Spoudē, or earnestness which indicates a sincere and disciplined enthusiasm for achievement, driven by reason and purpose.
In spring 2025, Saint Mary's School of Economics and Business Administration (SEBA) proudly welcomed eighteen outstanding students into our Beta Gamma Sigma Chapter. This prestigious honor recognizes their academic excellence, leadership potential, and accomplishments in the field of business.
Beta Gamma Sigma not only celebrates high scholastic achievement but also inspires a lifelong commitment to excellence and ethical leadership. All are core values shared by SEBA and Saint Mary's College as we continue to shape leaders worth following.
